Bassline Generator

A constrained randomizer for basslines that are actually worth trying in a track.

GENERATE

Quick start

1) Choose a preset. 2) Click Generate Line. 3) Use Play to audition or Export MIDI for your DAW. If you click Generate Line again without changing anything, ToneAnvil creates a new seed automatically. Use the lock buttons to keep rhythm, notes or velocity while generating new variations.

Why this randomizer is different

The generator does not choose every note independently. It builds a rhythmic motif, reuses and mutates it according to the repetition control, favors stable scale degrees, limits leaps unless octave-jump probability is high, and applies contour tendencies across each phrase.

MIDI export and workflow

The exported Standard MIDI File includes tempo and the generated bass notes at 960 PPQ. Drag it into your DAW, assign any synth or sampler, then edit the line further. The generator is meant to give you a musically coherent starting point, not a finished composition.
