Groove DNA
Stop describing a groove as “a bit late”. Put the timing on a grid and export it.
Swing moves every second subdivision later. Per-step offsets are added after swing.
Build a drum groove, add swing, change velocity and push or pull individual hits by milliseconds. Then export the exact groove as a MIDI file for your DAW.

ToneAnvil stores each hit as a lane, step, velocity and timing offset. Global swing shifts alternating subdivisions, while per-hit microtiming lets you push or pull single notes around that base groove. Exported MIDI preserves the resulting timing as closely as MIDI ticks allow.
The exported Standard MIDI File contains tempo plus kick, snare, closed-hat and percussion notes on MIDI channel 10. It uses 960 PPQ so small timing offsets survive the export. Your DAW may display or quantize the file differently depending on import settings.
