What the Pocket Mapper measures

ToneAnvil models a simplified gain-ducking envelope after every kick, then samples that envelope across each bass note. It reports attenuation at note onset, average attenuation over the note, and how much the gain has recovered.

Important limitation

This is a timing model, not an audio analyzer. Real compressor behaviour depends on detector design, knee, look-ahead, program material and plugin implementation. Use the mapper to plan groove and timing, then confirm by ear in your DAW.
